Hi there, I am Žiga!

I am a student at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at University of Ljubljana. I am actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in pure mathematics. Alongside studies I work at the Scientific Computing laboratory located in the E6 department at Jožef Stefan Institute .

My research

My main research interest lies in the discrete well-posedness of partial differential equations (PDEs) and stability of time dependent problems. In particular I conduct research on collocation methods, specifically meshless methods (RBF-FD). Alongside collocation methods, I am also interested in mixed finite element methods and finite element exterior calculus. At the moment, I do research in stability of mixed elasticity formulation of models on nanoscale levels.

Other projects and personal life

Alongside my research, I am also interested in other projects. I am actively developing a persistent homology library in Rust and Medusa C++ library for PDEs. I was also involved in low-level (windows kernel) cybersecurity development and website development. As far as my personal life goes, I am a lifetime sport enthusiast. I particularly enjoy running, table tennis and skiing in the winter.
